Canada secured a 6-0 victory over Qatar in a Group B match of the Group Stage competition at BC Place, Vancouver, on Thursday, June 18. Jonathan David scored a hat-trick for Canada.

Cyle Larin opened the scoring for Canada in the 16th minute. Jonathan David then added two goals before half-time, finding the net in the 29th minute and in the third minute of injury time. Qatar had Homam Al-Amin sent off with a red card in the 33rd minute.

The second half saw Nathan-Dylan Saliba extend Canada's lead in the 64th minute. Qatar's difficulties continued when Assim Madibo received a red card in the 53rd minute, and an own goal by Mohamed Naceur Almanai in the 75th minute further increased Canada's advantage. David completed his hat-trick in the 90+2nd minute, assisted by Nathan-Dylan Saliba, to round off the scoring. Derek Cornelius received a yellow card for Canada in the 9th minute. Qatar's Ahmed Fathi was booked in the 62nd minute.
